Stevens Point's Bode Erickson opened his sophomore track season with a new personal best of 4:28.13 in the 1600 meter run, outpacing some of the state's top distance runners for a first-place finish at the Oshkosh Large School Boys Invitational.
As a freshman, Erickson finished fifth at state in the 3200 meter run (9:22.12), and led Stevens Point to a fourth-place team finish at the state cross country championships earlier this year.
